Where is your happy place?
Digging my heels into a bed of sand, I feel the tiny pebbles sift through my toes. I relax into my lounge chair as the sun kisses my shoulders, transforming them from pale to caramel. As the waves crash and a salty breeze passes by, I sigh a breath of sweet relief. The beach is my nirvana. When I’m here, I care for nothing; I want for nothing.
Tranquility washes over me while the anxiety recedes into the abyss. A glass of chilled water and lemon elevates my senses. Here, I am free from the shackles of the world. I revel in the suspension of life and its burdening expectations. Time stands still, bathing in the glow alongside me. My mind takes a cleansing respite from internalizing and processing the world.
At the beach, I am at peace.
